the cat who writes

Write, take naps, and take another nap

Humans, don’t step on paper bags.

This is a public service announcement to humans who like to step on paper bags. Don’t step on paper bags. If you see a paper bag on the floor, resist the desire to stomp on it with your foot.

There might be a cat sleeping in it.

This is Clara. She found the paper bag on the floor and took a nap in it.

If you had stomped on this bag, you would have hurt the kitten.

How have you been?

I miss you.

Love Harper

    Hello Harper,

It’s good to hear from you, it’s been awhile, The Big Guy is careful with bags, boxes, and blankets, since we love to play with them, in fact we still have the bags that you sent us last year, we drugged them under the bed, and we play with them there.
You should also warn the humans to be careful closing doors, since we have been stuck in closets.before, especially the linen closet, the Big Guy doesn’t see us in there curled up on towels and blankets and closes the door.

We are doing well, Sanibel’s had a difficult year, she had a difficult type of tapeworm in her earlier this year, then she got a piece of hard plastic caught in her back teeth, so multiple trips to the VET. We blamed the Big Guy for not cleaning the floor better. But other than that we are healthy and happy.

We hope that you and your Furrends are doing well, it’s good to hear from you.

    Take Care,
    Skittles and Friends

      Hear Skittles and Friends,
I am so happy to hear from you. Oh dear, I should add linen closets to my story. And maybe the closet where people hang coats. JR was stuck in the front hall closet for several hours.

Oh dear, poor Sanibel. Is she better now? The Big Guy loves you very much, maybe he just needs to sweep more often.

Sending you cat purrs and cat hugs.

  • Dear Harper,
I promise to never step on a paper bag in the house again. As there are six cats in the house, it is very possible that one of the cats is taking a nap in the paper bag.
Would you please try and figure out how to clean the litter boxes yourself?
    Pamela, your typist

Hello Harper! We have missed hearing from you!

This is a very important psa — it’s important to watch out for cats in bags!

Also, might we add, it is also important to not sit on blankets that are lumpy. This happens far too much in our home and honestly the humans should know better by now. They end up sitting on whatever cat happens to be sleeping under the blanket. Giblet Paws gets smooshed quite often as a result!

P.S. Tinsel the hamster is not feeling good so some extra purrs for her would be appreciated!

Dear MacKayla the Empress, Joel Gray, Giblet Paws and Mittens the Magnificent,

I am so happy to hear from you. Thank you for your advice to be careful of lumpy blankets. Oscar and Charlie do this all the time. How is Giblet Paws? I’ll bet he still sleeps under the blanket.

We are sending extra purrs for Tinsel the hamster. I will tell our hamster, Einstein, about Tinsel. We don’t get to play with Einstein. The two times we knocked his cage off the table we weren’t able to get him out.

Love Harper, Charlie, Nepeta, JR, Oscar and Clara
