the cat who writes

Write, take naps, and take another nap

Martha the dog is a cats best friend

Today I took a nap in a sunbeam on Martha’s dog bed. The sun felt so warm on my fur.

When I turned around I saw Martha taking a nap beside me on the hard wooden floor. She looked so sad.

Martha has always been kind to me. When I was locked in the bathroom for two weeks when I moved here, she sat outside the door and talked to me. I had an ear infection and a bad cold. I wasn’t allowed to come out until I was completely healed.

Martha never chases me and she always wants to help me clean my plate if I don’t finish eating all of my food.

Martha is a good friend. I let Martha come on the dog bed with me.

The only thing better than a nap in a sunbeam is a friend to share it with.

Did you take a nap in a sunbeam today? Please tell me in the comments. I would love to talk to you.

Love Harper

That was very nice of you to allow Martha to share your sunbeam, I have two favorite indoor spots for enjoying the sun, in the morning I go into the office/den and the morning sun comes through a window, I have a nice blanket covered box under the window to lie on, in the afternoon I go into the bedroom and the afternoon sun comes in and I enjoy it stretched on the bed, the big guy opens up the blinds before he goes to work so we all can enjoy the outside. And when we get to go outside on the patio, there are some outdoor kitty climbing trees that allow me to soak up the sun. Sometimes I enjoy it alone and sometimes with my friends.

      Hi Skittles!
Please say hello to the big guy too. You are such a smart cat to follow the sun all day. You have a patio and trees to climb! Wow! I want to get Mrs. Hodges to build me and the other cats a place on the back deck this summer too!
Yes, it is nice to be alone sometimes and be with friends some time too.

I am not a cat but I have laid on a dog bed with a really big dog that likes to snuggle with me. No sunbeams for us but we got warm being together. I’m glad you have a dog who is your friend. That must mean that you know how to be a friend too. happy napping!

Harper, right now we have two cats we live with. One is Tardis and one is Computer. It is hard to believe they are both cats because they are so different. But maybe that’s silly of me to think that all of you cats should be the same when all humans are not the same at all. Tardis is a very assertive girl. She jumps all over things and pushes her way onto my lap. Once she jumped on me and took food off of my fork! The worst thing is that she is mean to Computer. Computer is shy and feels like she has to sneak around just to get any attention from us humans. She doesn’t want attention from Tardis. Tardis tries to be mean to Jemima the Newfoundland but Jemima doesn’t notice. It’s nice to talk to you Harper.
