“Who Shredded the Paper Towel Roll?” by Pooh Hodges

Who shredded the paper towel roll?

I didn’t do it.

It wasn’t me.

Was it a bear?

Was is a mouse?

Was it an elephant?

Was it a fox?

Was it a dog?

It wasn’t a bear.

It wasn’t a mouse.

It wasn’t an elephant.

I am participating in the Tuesday Slice Of LIFE hosted by Ruth Ayres and Stacey Shubitz at Two Writing Teachers.  They have been so kind to include me. I usually write memoir. Today I wrote a poem.

As a writer, it is always good to try different genre.

Ruth and Stacey host a Slice of LIFe Story Challenge in March.  They have wonderful prizes for everyone who posts a Slice Of LIFE story every day for the month of March.  I wonder if anyone will donate a catnip toy?

My senior staff member posted every day in March last year. She keeps telling me about the wonderful friends she has met through the Slice of LIFE. I like to make friends.

Would you like to be my friend?

    Dear Pooh,
How exciting! You got your kitten!
    I want one!
Where do i get a kitten?

    • poohhodges

My dearest Edelweiss. You get kittens from a mommy cat. We got our kittens from the cat hotel. You may have one near you, the SPCA? All the best, Love Pooh

Pooh, come over to and meet Chloe, aka her Fluffiness. I am her temporary staff. I will be reading your posts for all your tips and insight. Chloe also has an assistant, Taff. With two cats in the house, I need all the help I can get.

Dear Diane, Thank you for the invitation to visit newtreemom. I look forward to meeting Chloe and Taff. I see that you are temporary staff for Chloe. How many months are you temporary before you become full time? I hope it works out for you. Have you taken any classes on how to take care of cats? If you need any advice, I would love to assist you.
All the best Diane, love Pooh

    Hi Pooh,
Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog. I think I could learn a lot from you about waiting. I am glad you are challenging yourself as a writer by trying a poem. It was a very good poem with a surprise ending. I am sorry to say, Pooh, but I thought it was you who shredded the paper towel roll. I currently live with 1 dog and 3 cats. The cats are youngsters so I should have known. Your friend, Kim from writekimwrite

      Dear Kim,
You are very welcome. Oh dear, did you really think I would shred a roll of paper towel? I haven’t done that for years. I am trying to teach the kittens to be respectful and not shred paper. Teaching a kitten to read is even harder. Can you guess the first word I am teaching them? It starts with the letter C.
All the best, your friend Pooh.
