The Cat Who Writes™

I am a cat. I write.

Annie, the dog, loves Ryder the Fighter, a one year old boy with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia)

Annie, the dog, has been writing to Ryder. Ryder is one year, seven months, and four days old. He has AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  He was born on December 25th, 2013. Well, Annie dictated her letter to Mrs. Hodges and Mrs. Hodges printed it. Ryder is staying at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. His mommy said his […]

There is a new kitten in the bathroom and her name is …

Mrs. Hodges brought home a kitten. She is living in the upstairs bathroom right now. Hopefully she will be out soon, I would like to meet her.

I am a rather large animal and the kitten is small, but I promised Mrs. Hodges I will be gentle when I do get to meet the kitten.

My best-friend, Pooh, the cat I was a bodyguard for, died on April 1st, 2015

This is Martha Hodges talking. I am a dog. Mrs. Hodges is typing for me. I dictate and she types. Mrs. Hodges used to type for Pooh. Pooh Hodges, the cat. Pooh died on April 1st, 2015. At approximately 4:30 p.m. Pooh and I had a long talk the night before he died. He told […]

Three more sleeps until our puppy comes home

Mrs. Hodges told me today that we are getting a puppy. A little girl. A Golden Retriever.  In three more sleeps there will be a seven week old puppy in my kitchen. I will have to train the new dog to not chase the kittens. I am not sure if Mrs. Hodges knows how to train […]

6 Ways to keep a dog from eating the cats food. I like the last reason.

I am a cat. And while I love my bodyguard Martha, a dog, I don’t like when she eats my food. I have asked her several times to stop eating the cat food, but she won’t listen. Mrs. Hodges found a way to stop the dog from eating my food. It is reason number six.

Every Cat Needs a Clubhouse

Obviously a cat needs food and shelter. And several litter boxes. But a cat also needs a clubhouse.

Charlie, my assistant, and I hold our weekly meetings in my new clubhouse. We don’t have a door we can close, but we rarely talk about anything that the other cats or Mrs. Hodges can’t listen too. When we have secrets to tell, we just whisper.

Martha, my bodyguard has arthritis, and can’t walk up the stairs anymore

Martha, a dog and my dearest friend, has arthritis.

She couldn’t get up on her hind legs on her own. My typist, Mrs. Hodges, had to help Martha up. Once she was up she could walk, but it was scary to see my friend so weak. Mrs. Hodges thought Martha might be on her last legs. They are her only legs so of course they are her last legs.

Santa came to our house this morning and gave me a hat

Santa came to our house this morning and gave me a hat. I tried to stay awake. I have always wanted to meet Santa. But I must have fallen asleep in front of the fireplace. When I woke up my stocking was full and Santa was gone. Perhaps Santa is really a cat. How will he get […]

Hello my dearest friends, I am so excited to share my latest project.
