The Cat Who Writes™

I am a cat. I write.

Writing Wednesdays for cats, and kitten season is almost here

What have you been reading lately? I am reading The War of Art, by Steven Pressfield again. The last three years I read it seven times. Unfortunately, Trooper, the bird I live with chewed the cover.

The War of Art even helps cats win their inner creative battles

My typist is finally ready to type for me again. We moved into a smaller home and it took a long time to get unpacked.

I miss writing. I miss you. I miss Skittles and Patches and Shiloh.

Wednesdays will be my writing day, in honor of my good friend, Steven Pressfield, who writes on Wednesdays, with his column Writing Wednesdays.
It is a good idea to have a mentor to learn from when you are writing. His blog, has a lot of good advice about how to write, and how to fight resistance, when you struggle to get the work done.

Why do humans struggle being creative? They have thumbs.

Resistance can be beaten

Pressfield in The War of Art  lets us know that Resistance Can Be Beaten; I am reading page 57 now.

If Resistance couldn’t be beaten, there would be no Fifth Symphony, no Romeo and Juliet, no Golden Gate Bridge. Defeating Resistance in like giving birth. It seems impossible until you remember that women have been pulling it off successfully, with support and without, for fifty million years.
— Steven Pressfield, The War of Art, Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles

Cats have given birth successfully, with support and without, for millions of years as well.

Animal Shelters need you

Cats have a lot of kittens in the spring. Like, alot.

Please consider volunteering at your local animal shelter. Kitten season is soon going to be upon us, and there is a need for donations and volunteers.

I have missed you.
Please let me know how you are.

Steven Pressfield faithfully posts on his blog every Wednesday. You can follow him here.
